New American Society Of Golf Course Architects President

They say the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. Well in my family that is particularly true. My dad is a retired golf course architect. My brother is a golf course architect and I am obviously a golf course superintendent. My uncle was one of the top amateurs in the state of Colorado and my grandparents were extremely active in the golf world back in their time. The main reason for this brief blog is to congratulate my brother on his recent election as the President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Bring on The Events

Marching bands, 300+ players, flyovers, parades, 18 gun salutes, the former Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Sea Gals and then a big dinner……just another day at Newcastle. We had our first big event of the year yesterday. It was a good event with beautiful weather, lots of people, and a lot of side activities that made it different from the routine 144 player shotgun. Having 36 holes and the clubhouse we do, made the event possible. With the first big event being a success we look forward to the rest of the summer. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and turn the corner as well. It sure improves moral on the turf crew when people are able to get out and enjoy the product we work so hard to provide.
